With the Erased Classic Collection Jan Kath explores the aesthetics of decay and its interplay with more repetitive classic rug patterns. Inspired by the entropy of nature consuming and overtaking derelict industrial sites, Jan Kath sought to explore the process of severe ornamental design being subjected to extreme erasures, simulated tears and being etched with acid in the decimation of design, using the classic rug form as the muse for the creation of an entirely new visual language.

The Ferrara Rocked is hand knotted in a silvery grey wool and nettle blend with a bone white pattern that looks as its been partially erased. This rug is an elegant take on many of the contemporary looks that attempt to copy genuine articles, such as this one.
