Splash Collection ECO on DOMA No 03 from Rug Star

Each rug in the Eco series is a one of kind owing to the use of repurposed wool and silk.

The aptly named Splash series of rugs from Rug Star is one of the most spontaneous in feeling, which is saying a lot considering that this manufacturer is on the forefront of Avant-Garde interior design. Jürgen Dahlmanns has made the area rug into the muse exploring the way paint and other fluids might respond to various physical forces as they interact with surfaces. Each work is an explosion of color and movement. The color choices are never subtle and the energy of these designs are contagious. Not content to be co-stars. These are true Rug Stars.

This rug is also part of the ECO series from Rug Star that uses leftover high quality materials from previous rug production with the aim to eliminate and reduce waste. The resulting rugs become spontaneous, one-of-a-kind expositions of color and materials. These designs can be reproduced, but the controlled chaos of the palette is unique to each piece.

Rug Star's Nepalese produced rugs incorporate a unique three-warps system in to each knot, which allows for not only dynamic ranges of colors being possible, but also precision control of material introduction and interplay while still on the loom. The resulting abrash (the range of subtle tones within one color) unique to this method, allow the full vision of Jürgen's creative vision to come to life in his designs.
