Mafrash Pattern Rugs derive from bags and chests used by historically nomadic groups during annual migrations with their flocks and herds. Enterprising vendors began removing the sides and the faces of these would be sold, often used as throw rugs or even repurposed as pillows. Eventually these patterns have become a distinct style branch of rug production all their own. This item was woven as a new rug in this style
