This Great Little Landscape Gabbeh Can Handle Being in a Doorway or a Kitchen.

Believe it or not, this horizontal landscape of bright hills and trees has been produced using only dyes sourced from natural plant, mineral, and vegetable sources. The incredible range of hues is the result of dye production recipes going back into time immemorial and handed down through generations of these semi-nomadic weavers and rug producers. Gabbehs aren't just for looks though, these working textiles can handle the wear and tear of daily life and respond surprisingly well to spot cleanings as well as a semi annual processional scrubbing. This particular Gabbeh would make a great kitchen or entryway piece. These textiles are produced entirely by hand, from the shearing to the knotting, and this results in much of the natural lanolin remaining. This can act like a stain barrier and its not unheard of for liquids to bead up on the surface of these types of rugs.
