This handmade Gabbeh has a distinctly modern feel and almost has a bit of Frank Lloyd Wright in the vibe. The entire pallette of colors has been produced using dyes derived from all natural sources. This, in combination with the handspun wool, results in a very unique home furnishing that is perhaps more like bringing art to the floor rather than mere floor coverings

In a time where mass produced, fast fashion furnishings for the home are readily available and designed to be treated as disposable items, a handmade, one-of-kind piece of handicraft such as a Gabbeh is a statement against convenience over conscience. Each Gabbeh has been produced by human hands and made using sustainably sourced wool and free from chemically derivative synthetic dyes. Instead, relying on dyeing techniques passed down from generations to generations, using plants and mineral sources native to the regions these weavers call home.

We are honored to work with the Zollanvari family to bring these truly heartfelt rugs to you, as well as showcase the beauty of craftsmanship of some of the worlds last semi-nomadic hearing and weaving groups. Each Gabbeh shows the touch and eye of its maker and these are some of our absolute favorite hand-woven, one-of-a-kind rugs and carpets that we are fortunate to still be able to offer.
