Made using hand-spun wool and dyes produced from natural plant and vegetable sources, our authentic Gabbeh rugs are among the most holistic choices for living spaces. Comprised of a pattern of red and a very dark magenta color, these subtle stripes give the rug an over-all deep red color. Similar to crimson or vermillion.

The red dyes used in these rugs is made using the root of the madder plant. This plant must mature for at least five years prior to being harvested for dye making. The resulting red tones can range from intense and bright to more pastel coral tones depending on factors like dye concentration and whether the wool being dyed is of a lighter ivory tone or darker variety.
