Orchid No. 01 is like a vintage botany print from another planet.

Miron Schmueckle is a Berlin based artist with a specialty primarily in watercolor. His work often resembles old botany texts and scientific documentation of flora and fauna, but almost as if they come from another planet, one of his imagination. For Orchid No. 01 Jürgen has taken one of his more sensual depictions of an orchid of fantasy and created an astounding piece of art in its own right. The grey green wool background has the effect of lifting the orchid hand-knotted in vivd silk up and elevating it. 

Rug Star rugs produced in India are made with what is called a Persian Weave. By using a single thread to produce each knot the refinement of the design can be controlled to almost a pixelated level. With this method the final washing process is integral to realize the ultimate vision of the design.
