Abstract 6x9 Gabbeh
Bright and Energetic Gabbeh with Almost a Klimt Vibe
The squares within squares tiles often seen in tribal gabbehs are said to symbolize wells and watering holes for the family, which in a semi-nomadic world symbolizes the ability to support a large heard and is a symbol of prosperity. This gabbeh depicts a vast amount of wells and could be considered a statement of good luck and prosperity. The effect this random placement has is also not unlike how Gustav Klimt chose to depict some clothing patterns in his later works.
