Green 3x5 Gabbeh

Charming Blue and Green Gabbeh with Unique Borders.

Very nice green Gabbeh Rug. Series of borders in darker and lighter green. The Green dye used in Gabbeh's comes form the wool being dyed first yellow with milkweed thistle and onion skins, then overdyed with indigo until the desired tint is achieved. The variations in the heathering is the result of the lanolin content in the wool affecting how the wool takes the dye.
