Landscape 3x5 Gabbeh
Charming Gabbeh with Rolling Hills of Blue and Natural Wool
This classic little throw Gabbeh depicts a landscape of a series of hills with various trees and plants. The indigo blue and heather gray hills stretch off into the horizon creating an almost nightfall effect. The wool used in Gabbeh rugs is cultivated from sheep that have spent generations migrating through Iran's Zagros Mountains with the seasons. This high altitude wool produces a yard for weaving that retains much of its natural lanolin. The result is a fiber that is incredibly resilient to staining and soiling. Making these rugs as durable and hearty as they are whimsical and endearing.
