Kashkuli Gabbeh with Plants and Peacocks
Measures: 3'3" x 4'8"
Made from: Handspun wool and naturally sourced dyes
Handmade in Southern Iran
Gabbeh's are one-of-a-kind rugs originating from semi-nomadic weaving herders in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. Gabbeh rugs are known for their whimsical subject matter and almost abstract treatment of perspective and color choices. This particular one is hand-knotted in a majority of undyed wool tones reflecting the natural variation seen between black and white sheep. There are also alternating squares of indigo blue with peacocks in them along with several others freely meandering about the fields.
