These larger sized Gabbehs are becoming something of a rarity lately. But we mananged to source a few on a recent buying trip to New York. This beauty is the classic deep red with amber undertones and features some tribal line work across along with some rich burgundy striping. These hearty Gabbehs can stand up to anything life can throw at-or on-them thanks to the high altitude wool cultivated for generations in the Zagros Mountains of Southern Iran. The wool that the sheep produce there is rich in natural lanolin, which acts as sort of natures own stain repellent.
