Oushak, or Ushak rugs originated in the town of the same name in Anatolia, just south of Istanbul, Turkey.

Oushaks stand out among Turkish rugs as they have been greatly influenced by Persian design and motifs. Antique Oushaks tend to have a very coarse weave, as well as being distinct in both color palette choices and design. Smaller floral medallions connected by vine scroll often meander around the central field creating a feast for the eyes. Modern Oushaks tend to bridge decorative elegance with playful color choices that liven up any room.
