The Equinox design from Battilossi in Moonstone is one of the more understated designs we feature from the Italian designers. But the signature attention to detail and texture that is the hallmark of this sophisticated line is definitely present. Rather than simply creating a pile rug, Equinox in Moonstone features a defined pattern and some surprising uses of knotting techniques to create a more varied surface area.

This is achieved by using an Ibiza weave, which is an interpretation of a 15th century Spanish technique. Instead of knots being tied in a traditional checkerboard organization, they are alternated in a diagonal one. Battilossi’s innovative knotting technique creates a surface with a distinct elegant texture, look, and feel.

This piece is a great way to incorporate a more individualized and varied surface while still retaining a clean, neutral palette.
