Baneh Kilim with Grey, Green, and Yellow Ochre Stripes
This lovely Kilim flat-weave textile is extremely versatile.
This Kilim was produced in the town of Baneh, which lies in the Kurdistan region near the Iraq Iran border. These Turkish speaking groups are renowned for their production of flat-woven textiles, produced using the smaller, portable looms just as they have been since antiquity. These traditional Kilims are woven as long strips or as sections that are later sewn together to form the finished piece.
