These vivd and energetic Gabbehs are sometimes referred to as "graffiti" Gabbehs due to the spontaneous colorful nature of them. The seemingly random nature of the patterns is by no accident though. The weavers here are making several of these squares distinct with patterns, specific plants or animals. They may even symbolize particular acreage or landscape features. But the result is a whimsical and fun carpet that we just love.
